On Washington D.C.
Washington D.C. is such an oddball of a city. Old people. Young people. Men who act like women and have better nail hygiene than I do. Purposeful walking and cement. Women in skirts, hose and sneakers. Tourists in matching caps and fluorescent colored t-shirts. Odd I tell you!
I feel like I have been living in a bubble. Everything is so manicured. People wash the sidewalks, flower beds are put in for the spring, but that is just Dupont circle for you I guess. It makes me feel like I have to be manicured, which — let me tell you — I am not! Last time I got my hair cut? January. Average times I shave per week? 2.7ish. Number of hangnails? 7. Number of holes in the shoes I wore to work today? Approx. 4 (depending on your definition of “hole”). And yes, sometimes, in very dire circumstances, I have washed my hair in the sink before work.
